The morning was all quiet, no opening bell sound
Not a peep was made, not an onion to be found
I sat awake, though, no need for Santa
Christmas came early due to -10% BABA
Tons of companies went public though not on the IPO track
Yet somehow the crypto exchange is the one not doing it by SPAC
My heart is heavy for not everything is merry,
The last last call draws nearer, garnished with a maraschino cherry
When the SEC drops a pebble in the pond, it causes a ripple
Did everyone forget that circumventing seigniorage isn’t so simple?
There was plenty of fraud involving cars, catheters and coffee
But who could forget when Goldman stole from Gaddafi?
As the weather grows meaner and I huddle by the fire
I can’t help but think about when there was no oil storage left to hire
No matter your trade, long or short, buy or sell,
Have a happy new year and remember - don’t drop the ball, ring a closing bell
